The future updates for Adventures of Yi

Hey, Birdie Birds!

I want to start off positive by saying that we got 157 views and 9 downloads since June 2019. I know it may not seem like a lot but, it's a good start being that it is my first game. After developing the game for over 2 years and finally releasing a prototype it looks like my hard work is paying off.

With that being said, there's a views/download ratio gap that I want to make even or at least close the gap. I wanted to improve the chances of people downloading my game so, I looked up what makes a "bad" RPG Maker game and the first time I notice that the font is what people care about. So, I recently updated the font, I wasn't going to do that until we got out of the prototype stage. I can't get out of the prototype stage until I have feedback that everything is good to go, knowing that people won't touch it because of the font is kinda disheartening. So I looked up some fonts and decided on this:

If you have seen my recent update video on youtube you would have seen that the background was transparent and didn't match the rest of the menus. I found a way to correct that and now it's the same as the others.

You can see all of these in the next update I don't want to update the game for something so minor. I've decided to put the updates on a  schedule, so on the 23rd of every other month, there will be an update.

Adventures of Yi is finally out....sorta

After 2 long years of developing, having to start over, developing some more, having to start over for the second time, and even more development I finally have a prototype.

I still have a lot to add assets to add the game like more music and side quest. This is part 1 of 5, I had to make it episodic since or else it will be too big to download. You can download it here, and watch the trailer here.

Thank you!

April Goals and Progress for Adventures of Yi

Hey birdie birds!

One of the biggest goals is to get a working prototype in 2 months. April has been a busy month in game development for us in the 2 years, the game has been in development there has been very slow progress (due to me being a full-time college student and working part-time). There's has been a break in development and here are a few things that got done this month.

Writing

I have gotten a total of 7 cutscenes done for the game which is a very big deal since it is a story driven game. Also, I have finished the rough draft of chapter 1 and, some of chapter 2 started. As far as character development (skills, weapons, armor, and story) it's slow but steady here's a visual understanding:

(the bottom 2 characters are locked until later chapters)

Gameplay

Two of the bosses and optional bosses are finished. Four of the side quests are complete and I've added in a mini-game. I have been able to play through battles without encountering a bug.

(plugin: mjshi, cards: zael bg:me)

Music

As far as music I haven't created any in weeks! I've haven't felt inspired at all!

I'll go into depth with all the details in a video that will be over on Youtube.

Upcoming May events

Hey Birdie Birds!

I want to first apologize for not updating as often juggling this and Instagram is not that easy to do. So, besides it being my birth month May is going to be a busy month for me because I and Gailcreativedesign are going to be hosting a sewing panel at Momocon. Also, I'm booking photo shoots for Momocon it's a "pay-what-you-want' shoot (email me if you want to schedule a shoot). I'm only taking 5 slots a day from Thur-Sat.

Rail Road Studio's 25 days of Birdmas!!!

Hey, Birdie birds!

It's that time of year again!!! I wanted to do something special for the holidays to thank all of you for making this a wonderful year for us.  If you ever wanted a (free) commission from me, here's is your chance. I'm giving my fellow birdie birds a free digital holiday card of their bird(s). Also, it doesn't have to be a bird it can be a bunny, a person (neck up). Please fill out the form, and  I'll start working on them as soon as possible. I will send them out by or on the holiday you choose.

There is one rule to follow and that is no anti-card (i.e. anti-Christmas, anti-Hanukkah, anti-Kwanzaa, etc.).

Thanks!

Revamping Everything

Hey, birdie birds!

So, early this year I made business cards and got a banner from Vistaprint and they look really good but, they're just regular templates that anyone can choose from (not saying that's bad). So, I've decided to make new ones with original artwork on it and just use the old ones as backup.

The new business cards will include my website on it since the old ones don't and a link to my store. Since my Instagram is growing and people wanting to commission me to draw their birds, I'm going to open up my store next year and attending my very first craft show.

Inktober Drawings + updates

Hey, Birdie birds!

Updates

October was a busy and frustrating month, with the amount of work I have to do and the lack of drawing I did. I have some good and bad updates for this month. I'll start with the bad, which is no October wallpaper. I had the file on my computer but, when I went to open it, it was blank. Luckily, I have a hard copy of it so, I'll try to redraw it in between my other projects. Speaking of projects, I have a really big project coming up for December.

Inktober

This year was my first Inktober and I was only able to do 4 days, and here they are...I do not like using ink as a medium but, I thought I'll give it a try.

September Wallpaper is here!

Hey, birdie birds!

September has been a tough month for me I barely made any art because of my game file's got corrupted so, I had to redo a month's worth of work. Also, I really didn't know what to draw for this month's wallpaper until the last week. Since September is the start of fall (which is my favorite season) I decided to do my very first fall theme drawing. I've added almost all of my favorite fall things except the Halloween stuff which is next months theme. I hope you like it, you can download it if you want. I've been trying to make my art much more detail and I hope it showed.

Thank you for stopping by,

-Rail M.
